Tad & Annette--How we met

Since this is the first time I've blogged I'll start with how my hubby & I met. Tad & I met at a young adult dance in November of 1990, I had just graduated from Jordan High School (GO BEETDIGGERS!) that June, and certainly wasn't looking to get married yet. I had enrolled at Utah State University and had just started my first semester that September. My best friend at the time was Laurie & she and I got a ride home from Logan since it was Thanksgiving Break. We were sitting around on a Saturday and she suggested that we go to the Young Adult Dance, I agreed since there wasn't anything better to do. So we went to the dance that night, as usual we would stand on the side of gym, hoping for some cute guys to ask us to dance and as usual Laurie, who was tall & blonde, would get asked to dance & I would just be left standing there like a big looser. Occasionally a really nerdy or short guy would ask me to dance, and I would agree just to be nice. That particular night though, Tad came and asked me to dance, I was quite surprised that he wasn't ugly, however he was wearing kinda nerdy clothes, I remember it was a red and white striped shirt that looked sorta like a flag & light baby blue cotton pants with brown loafer shoes. ( I still tease him about that & I got rid of them as soon as we got married) Anyways, we danced a few times and talked , I thought he was really nice & much better looking than the other guys I usually danced with, but didn't think I would ever see him again. I went back to school in Logan until Christmas break and then came home again. My friend Laurie again suggested that we go to the dance, what else could we do for $2 we were poor college students. So we got to the dance and Laurie realized she forgot her money at home. I only had enough money to get myself in so I couldn't help. She told me just to go into the dance and she would find a way to get in. So I walked in the gym and almost immedietely Tad came and asked me to dance. I said yes and while were dancing I kept thinking of Laurie stuck out in the foyer and started laughing, Tad asked what I was laughing at and & I told him. He laughed too and then offered to pay for her to get in. I told him he didn't have to but he insisted. So after the song was over we started walking to the door, but in walked Laurie, I asked he how she got in & she told us that she promised the guy who was taking the money she would dance with him (that would have never worked for me, but whatever) So Tad & I danced the whole rest of the night, he was much better dressed so I was happy that he didn't always dress nerdy. After the dance we met up with Laurie & a guy she met, & went to Laurie's house watch a movie. It was one of the Indiana Jones movies, I was so tired that I fell asleep on Tad's shoulder, he thought that was so cool. He woke me up when it was over and drove me home, he walked me to my door then actually asked if he could kiss me, I couldn't resist so I said yes, it was so romantic. Anyways, we started dating almost every day after that. After three weeks, Tad asked me to marry him, I couldn't believe it was happening so fast but it felt right so I said yes. Six months later on July 12,1991 we we married and it's been quite a ride ever since
